TEDx Delft Award

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading”. What began as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, has grown to support world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for up to 18 minutes. Their talks are then made available for free at TED.com. Previous TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The annual TED Conference takes place in Long Beach, California with a simultaneous broadcast in Palm Springs. TEDGlobal 2011 was held in Edinburgh, Scotland.

A TEDx event is an event structured like the annual TED conference, but independently organized. Annually, YES Delft Students organizes such a TED conference. This year the conference will be different to other years. We will select a number of pitches, through pre-rounds and workshops, these pitches will get be held at the event. The three best pitches are allowed to go to the TEDx Delft conference (with over 2.000 visitors!). They will win money to realise the idea they pitch about.
On March 26, 2019, the YES Delft Students TEDx Delft  award returns with an impressive panel of speakers, cutting-edge ideas, inspirational stories, a great food experience and fun side events.
